What others like to do, but IIME does not?

Industrial visits

Most B-Schools organize Industrial visits and tours to observe how manufacturing firms work. Service sector is contributing 55% of India’s total income, where as agriculture and manufacturing together is contributing 45%. More than 80% jobs for MBAs are offered by service sector. Then what is necessity in visiting large manufacturing industries? Only 2 Industrial visits will be there in IIME. However, there will be 20 visits to service sector offices, as part of our short term projects and assignments.


Sample assignment questions from other B-Schools: What are the different motivational theories available to motivate the employees of an organization?

To answer the above question, the student is simply required to copy the content from text book to the assignment paper.

Sample Assignment Question from IIME: Which, out of the following, would most effectively motivate a sales executive of a financial services company?

  • Rise in salary
  • Monthly incentive
  • A return ticket to Bangkok with spouse
  • Reducing the work hours in his case
  • Promotion

No student can answer this question with the help of a text book alone. He will be forced to meet the Branch Manager/ HR Manager of a financial services company to answer this assignment question.

University MBA & our PGDBM

Only for the sake of getting a Government recognized MBA certificate, we offer University MBA along with our own PGDBM. Our PGDBM course, not recognized by Government, mainly concentrates on molding the students to the tune of the private sector requirements. Observe the difference between the following 2 sample questions in the exam:

Sample MBA question of most Universities & B-Schools: What factors drive a consumer in taking a buying decision?

To answer this question, mugging the text book is enough.

Sample PGDBM question from IIME: Differentiate the factors that drive a consumer in taking a buying decision for the following products & services:

  • 5 Kg Sugar packet
  • Cadbury Chocolate form a big mall
  • Car
  • Body Massager form a door to door sales executive
  • Life Insurance policy

To answer this question, the student is required to possess some market knowledge and logical sense in addition to text book knowledge. These things are available at IIME only.



What IIME only can do?

Placement to all other B-Schools

We regularly organize Campus Placement Festival for all the B-Schools in this region at our campus. The participating companies include TVS Motors, ETV, Subhiksha, Convergys, ShareKhan, ING Vysya Bank, InfoMedia, Reliance Capital, HCL, Dozco, TMI First, Angel Broking, Mafoi, Samsung, Adecco, Artha Money, Bajaj Capital, BPO FOS, India Bulls, Reliance Communications, Big 92.7 FM, India Infoline, Genpact, Pearl Bottling (Pepsi) etc.

Own Soft Skills Programme

IIME has its own Soft Skill Programme, the global citizen, to take special care with students of poor communication skills in English. Admission into this programme for a 2 year course is free for IIME students.

Own Student’s Magazine

We have an online weekly student’s magazine run by IIME students. It is mainly aimed at creating interest among management students toward business writing & reading. Articles can be contributed by students of any B-School. Business news & case studies will be prepared by IIME students only. The topic, my corporate experience, will be contributed by corporate executives. Every week, a new 4 member IIME student team will act as the editorial staff of this magazine.

New Product Development Team

A team of IIME students with engineering background formed into new product development team. There task is to develop new products for market. Currently, this team is working on producing a cot with inbuilt Air Conditioner with a see through enclosure. So that, instead of Air Conditioning the entire bedroom, using this product, you can reduce the Air Conditioning area to the size of the bed. This would result in saving of 75% of your electricity bill.

Mutual Fund Management Club

IIME students with Finance specialization will be the members of this club. Each student is supposed to analyze annual reports of different companies and come out with the best company that is going to earn handful profits in the near future. The club managers will bye the shares of that company. Time to time, all club members should be monitoring the performance of their respective companies and their share price movement. This will expose the students of Finance specialization to the practical side of stock markets.

Pocket money to developing students

Pocket money of Rs.500.00 per month, for one semester will be paid to all the students to secure and aggregate of 10% extra marks over the previous semester. We will pay to a maximum of 10 students.

Own Placement Agency

We have the separate placement wing of IIME, to be run by IIME students of Human Resources specialization.
